Who we are

Growth Operators in Tech ("GOIT", "we", "us") is a community organisation for growth professionals across Africa's tech ecosystem, operating at growthoperatorsintech.org. Questions about this policy go to hello@growthoperatorsintech.org.

What we collect and why

We only collect what you give us, and only in three places:

• Pitching the Pulse. When you submit a pitch, we collect your name, email, role and company, and the pitch itself. This is used to review your pitch, contact you about it, and, if selected, publish your byline.
• Downloading a publication. When you download an issue of the Pulse, we collect your name and email so we can deliver it and let you know when future issues and sessions happen. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Contacting us. When you email any of our addresses, we receive whatever you choose to send.

Our community itself lives on WhatsApp. When you join, WhatsApp's own privacy policy governs what happens on that platform. Other members of the group will see the profile information you have chosen to display on WhatsApp.

Where your information lives

Emails and names collected through our forms are stored in Brevo, the platform we use to manage our mailing list and send emails. Brevo processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy policy. Pitch submissions are also delivered to our editorial board by email.

What we never do

• We never sell your information. To anyone. For anything.
• We never share your details with sponsors or partners without asking you first.
• We never add you to the mailing list without you giving us your email through one of the forms above.

Emails from us

If you are on our list, you will hear from us about sessions, calls for pitches, and new issues of the Pulse. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing works immediately.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not run advertising trackers. If we use basic analytics to understand how the site is used, it is aggregate and not tied to your identity.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely. Email hello@growthoperatorsintech.org and we will act on it. We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act and apply the same standard to members everywhere.

Published work

If your essay is published in the Pulse, your name and byline are part of the publication and remain in published issues. If you need a published byline changed for safety or legal reasons, contact us and we will work it out with you.

Changes

If this policy changes in any meaningful way, we will update this page and note the date above. We will not quietly weaken it.
